Albers Alligators, Zweva, SimGas, SNV and Intellectual Ventures Global Good Fund are collaborating to design and manufacture affordable, flexible biogas digesters for households in rural (sub)tropical areas (starting in East Africa).

The project is intended to encourage smallholder farmers to produce their own biogas for cooking and fertilizer for the farm, hence reduce the impact of indoor air pollution, reduce CO2 emissions, reduce deforestation, reduce household expenditures on fuels and fertilizer, and shorten the time that women and children spend to collect fuels.

We intent to share information through this website during the project on both the results and challenges we come across. We believe there is much knowledge and experience out there that combined can set a new benchmark for the biogas sector, while there is a huge amount of people lacking a good biogas solution.
